Note About Insurance

Limited secondary insurance is included in your seminar package cost but is in no way intended to serve as a substitute for primary health insurance coverage for International Business Seminars program participants. A summary of coverage follows:

  • $25,000 Emergency Medical Expense
  • $25,000 Accidental Death and Dismemberment
  • $250,000 Emergency Medical Transportation/Evacuation/Repatriation
  • $1,000 Trip delay/Missed Connection
  • $1,000 Baggage and Personal Effect
  • $250 Baggage Delay

PLEASE NOTE TRIP CANCELLATION COVERAGE IS NOT INCLUDED. We suggest that you consider purchasing some type of cancellation insurance on your own. Suggested insurance companies offering cancellation coverage are Travel Guard Insurance or Travelex Insurance Services. There are other travel insurance plans that are available as well.

As is noted on the application form, our refund policy has very strict guidelines for reimbursement of money that you pay for your program.  You will note that if you are forced to cancel from the program for any reason, including but not limited to illness, injury or other personal reasons, within thirty (30) days of departure, you are entitled to NO refund on money paid to IBS. We, therefore, highly recommend that you purchase trip cancellation insurance to cover yourself if such a situation would occur.  Likewise, if you are forced to leave the seminar because of an emergency once the seminar has begun, there is no provision for a refund of the seminar costs that have been paid unless you have purchased trip cancellation insurance. This is relatively low cost insurance for the coverage it provides.

Please note that almost all insurance programs pay claims some time after the fact.  If you have a medical emergency while overseas, you will likely have to pay for the treatment on the spot and file for reimbursement after you return to the USA.  This is also true for the cancellation coverage and baggage coverage.  Many international hospitals and doctors do not accept credit cards from travelers.  Travel insurance may substitute for cash payment at the time of service; however, many health providers will require you to pay cash for services rendered.

IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU KEEP ALL RECEIPTS AND MEDICAL INFORMATION IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO FILE ANY TYPE OF INSURANCE CLAIM.
